Food here is not good. To elaborate: Creamed chipped beef was not good. Bland. The creamed gravy part did not taste good. Burger was flavourless. I ordered it RARE but the burger came out completely WELL DONE instead. Service was helpful and got me a second burger. Second time around, the burger was medium rare. Still flavourless. Coleslaw was bland and uninspired. I wish we hadn't come here to eat & I would not want to come here again.

Wonderful place. The potroast is huge and reasonable. The service is exceptional and they are so friendly here. Hash browns were wonderful. The special is 8 dollars for mashed potato and potloaf as big as my head.the soup was good and homemade.the interior was beAutiful.

My husband wanted to go to friendly' sand we should have. I saw this place and thought it looked good. There were a lot of people there. I don't know why. He was excited about a prime rib special. Came over cooked and tasteless per him. I ordered stuffed flounder and it was something you would get in the freezer section of the grocery and I'm sure it was. It was cool in the middle. It came w a baked potato, can't get those wrong and corn. But the corn was canned and not fresh at all. Half way home my husband got sick. I would never go back.

My mom and I ordered two burgers and they were completely raw on the inside. Completely disgusting.

I've stopped here several times and always been very satisfied. Quick and friendly service, for good food, at a reasonable price. And it's clean and comfortable inside.

The food was great! But the service was terrible! There was only one waitress doing a whole restaurant. Also the bathrooms weren't clean and there was algae in the toilets. I was in this place for an hour and a half waiting for that one waitress to serve my family. But that waitress was very kind.

This is the second time we stopped at the Water Gap Diner after camping, and I was glad to see my fellow Yelper, Mitchell M. had been there recently. I concur with him that their egg sandwiches are great. Nothing like a big, hearty pork roll, egg, and cheese after a night of roughing it. Mitchell recommended having them on a bagel, but I prefer an English muffin. They layer the sandwiches with slices of yellow and white American cheese making them a gooey but delicious mess to eat. Our friends got burgers which came out the way they should -- like great, classic, diner burgers. They loved them. (French fries sucked, though.) It's more than a little bit worn down inside, but it's very clean, and the service is friendly. It's got the feel of a real locals joint, with a lot of heads turning when we first trudged in. Unlike most diners, they do not have one of those ridiculously extensive menus where you can get everything from a Waldorf Salad to a Salisbury Steak. It's a pretty simple menu comprised of your typical diner classics -- breakfast, burgers, salads, sandwiches -- and a few basic entrees for dinner. If you're passing through the area and you're itching for a good greasy spoon diner to grab a bite in, this is your place.

My husband and I stopped her after going for a drive one day. We like to turn the car in one direction and kind of "get lost". It was a cold Sunday in February and there wasn't much life around. I was getting hungry and so we decided to take a chance here. I'm glad we did! We found a gem! The first clue was probably the four Police Search and Rescue vehicles in the parking lot - they always know where the good eats are! The waitress and staff were very friendly and attentive. Yes, the place could use some sprucing up, bring it up to 2014 a bit, but it also has that real kind of home town feel being that old! The food was really, really good! I had a burger that was very obviously fresh. It was well cooked, the fries were great too! Coffee was fresh and hot and good. We honestly felt like we happened on a little gem in the rough and will go back again soon!

Nice no frills place for a quick bite. Friendly waitress, quick service and good food. Liked the hummus and pita.

Solid diner menu. They offer all the favorites you come to expect from diners. The dining room certainly needs work, but I don't think you come here for the ambiance. It's about getting fed for the day. The service is friendly and polite. They egg sandwiches are great. I recommend the sausage, egg & cheese on a toasted bagel. They use thick sausage links. I'm more of a patty guy myself, but they might have sold me on the links. Prices are right, and their is a little picnic table out front if you have a four-legged friend with you. Easy enough to get a to go order & eat outside.

Before any good hike, a solid meal is to be had. Protein, carbs, sugars, you need 'em all! My hiking buddy and I stopped in for a quick bite before hitting the trails along The Gap. The location is super convenient and has picturesque roads leading to the parking lot alongside the beginning of the trails. All right. Our server was very sweet and funny. It was nice to experience someone with a real personality. Let's see if you can guess what I had... Yeah, two eggs over easy with rye toast and sausage. Shocking right? I eat this at every single diner I walk into. It was pretty standard, I ate it and enjoyed it. Can't really ask for more than that when it costs $5.95. Would I come back? Yeah sure, I love hiking and the proximity to the trails and route 80 makes it very convenient.

Used to stop here all the time on my way back to the city. Never again. I headed to the bathroom before going to a table and the attitude they caught was unreal. The food wasn't very good anyways and there are much better choices just around the corner .

We stopped for lunch on a recent trip one afternoon. Located not far from i-84, the Water Gap Diner isnt much to look at from the outside, they had some dripping water coming thru the roof, due to the recent tropical storms. We were seated fairly quickly, and given time to look over our menus. They have daily specials (haddock, tilapia, steaks, etc) as well as standard items such as burgers, salads, etc. Ordered the medium-well London Broil for 10.95, came with bread and a veggie, which was mixed rice & spinach. Service wasnt bad, just not too fast, food was fairly priced, would have liked it a little cheaper, but hey.

The service was good but the food was not much more than heat 'n eat. I would not go back. I usually love diners but not this one. I ordered a deluxe cheeseburger thinking that would be hard to mess up but I was wrong. It was an over cooked patty direct from the freezer. The server was kind enough to steer us away from certain things we asked about.

We were just here last Saturday after our hike to Mnt Tammany in Delaware Water Gap. It was a beautiful day after our 6-mile hike and we were exhausted and famished. Well, someone used their smart phone to find this place and it was the next exit from Dunnfield parking lot. So, we tried it out since it had some good reviews. It was quaint and waitress was really nice. She came back after she noticed the coffee was cold. The food came fast and was pretty good. I had the special which was broiled haddock with baked potato and stewed green beans. Very reasonable price and done well. I would recommend this place since location is convenient and food is great too. No complaints from friends who came with me.

Doesn't appear very clean. The food was nothing to write home about. Prices were average. MUCH better places to go to in the area. Unless you're desperate, or a desperate hiker going down the trail, no reason to stop here.

Not impressed. I had the french-dip. Crappy meat with unflavorfull dip. Though the service was great, I do not recommend.
(2)Patrick H.
Slow service, forgetful waitress, and flavorless food. I wouldn't recommend it and don't get the French onion soup. My water had more flavor.
